Meet Essi & Jukka – The People Behind LOFTT
LOFTT isn’t just a shop — it’s a personal project shaped by decades of collecting, traveling, and following curiosity. Behind it all are Essi and Jukka, a duo with a deep love for clothing, music, culture, and all the little things that carry stories. Here's a little bit of a background of the people behind LOFTT.
A Natural Beginning
LOFTT wasn’t planned or driven by marketing strategies. It grew naturally over time, through years spent digging through collectors attics, flea markets, swap meets, and all kinds of secondhand corners of the world. Since they’ve been little kids, Jukka and Essi have been interested in all things popular culture and digging for good things — not for a shop, but because they’ve always loved the hunt.
The idea to create LOFTT came later by a happy accident — involving old friends and an old train repair shop in Karjaa — as a way to share a little bit of that passion with others. Since the shop days in Karjaa, LOFTT has transitioned to an online only store, but the same passion remains.
Jukka — Clothing Nerd, Music Head, Culture Archivist
Jukka’s background is rooted in design and premium clothing — he’s worked behind international brands for years and still does. But what really makes him tick, is his deep knowledge of clothing, popular culture and denim history, and how that connects to the bigger cultural picture. He’s the kind of person who can tell you the story behind a seam or a wash — and probably where it was first seen in a 90s skate video or underground zine.
Since a small boy, he’s had a passion for band t-shirts (legendary Hoo&Pee mail order — never forget), toys, skateboarding, MTV (120 minutes, Yo! MTV Raps, Alternative Nation, Most Wanted and such), Amiga 500 games, magazines, music, weird stand-up, basketball, typography, design, and all kinds wonderfully nerdy things.
His background in skateboarding, design, DIY culture, and even life as a once-touring musician still shows up in everything he does. Whether it’s old NBA jerseys, Japanese denim, vintage americana and military pieces, classic menswear staples, or a forgotten punk, ambient or hip hop record, Jukka approaches it all with equal parts research and reverence.
Essi — Collector With an Open Heart
Essi brings a different but equally important energy to LOFTT. She’s an open-minded, open-hearted person who’s always looking for beauty in unexpected places. Like Jukka, she has a musical background, and that love for sound and self-expression flows into everything she touches.
She’s drawn to pieces that feel personal — things with texture, memory, and emotion. Her style is intuitive and heartfelt, helping to shape LOFTT into a space that feels both welcoming and full of character.
If Jukka is the quiet nerd living inside his head, Essi is the warmly welcoming soul who genuinely loves people and brings the human touch to everything.

More than anything, LOFTT is built on a shared curiosity and love for popular culture, music, and timeless design. It’s not a concept store or a brand in the traditional sense — it’s a space that reflects years of traveling, digging, and discovering.
Everything you find at LOFTT has been chosen with care and intention, catering to different kinds of interests and price points. And while some things may change, that guiding spirit — of collecting, connecting, and sharing — will always stay the same.
